Zyracin®10mg
Long acting anti-histamine syrup
  • Zyracin® contains Cetirizine hydrochloride which is described as a long-acting antihistamine with antiallergic effects.
  • Cetirizine inhibits the histamine – mediated early phase of the allergic reaction and also reduces the migration of certain inflammatory cells such as eosinophils and the release of certain mediators associated with the late allergic response.
  • It markedly reduces bronchial hyperreactivity to histamine in the asthmatic patients and also reduces the allergic reaction induced by specific allergens.
  • It induces neither sedation nor behavioral changes; this maybe explained by the fact that cetirizine does not cross the blood brain barrier.
  • Cetirizine is rapidly absorbed from the GIT after oral doses; peak plasma concentrations being attained  within about an hour.
  • Cetirizine is excreted primarily in urine mainly as unchanged drug.
