Tussinor® syrup
Anti-tussive expectorant decongestan

Tussinor® syrup contains:

  • Chlorpheniramine maleate, which act as an antihistamine, with a great value in prophylaxis in asthmatic individuals.
  • Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide acts centrally to elevate the threshold for coughing. It is approximately equal in efficiency to Codeine but it has the advantage of producing little or no depression of the central nervous system and it does not cause addiction.
  • Ephedrine hydrochloride has prolonged sympathomimetic action. It causes relaxation of constricted bronchi with its direct and indirect effects on adrenergic receptors preventing bronchial spasm, hence breathing becomes more convenient.
  • Guaifenesin is reported to increase the volume and reduce the viscosity of tenacious sputum and act as an expectorant for productive cough.

¤ Therefore, Tussinor® compound provides a full range of therapeutic action against cough complex. It suppresses the cough center, relieves bronchospasm and helps to promote tracheobronchial secretion.
