Solanil®
for Cough and common cold

Solanil® syrup is a compounded drug product for cough treatment. Its multiple composition provides the perfect cough treatment as:

  • Glyceryl Guaiacolate (Guaifenesin) is an expectorant used to increase the volume and reduce the viscosity of tenacious sputum in productive cough, that makes it easier to dispose by the patient and converts the dry irritating cough into a productive one that is less exhausting to the patient.
  • Chlorpheniramine maleate is an antihistamine used for the symptomatic relief of allergic conditions including rhinitis, coughs and common cold. It also relieves the symptoms of tickling associated with cough.
  • Phenylephrine HCl is a sympathomimetic agent with mainly direct effects on adrenergic receptors. It has predominantly alpha-adrenergic activity that is used to relieve nasal congestion.

Each 5 ml of Solanil® syrup contains:

  • Glyceryl Guaiacolate             50 mg
  • Chlorpheniramine maleate      1 mg
  • Phenylephrine HCl               2.5 mg
  • Solanil®  syrup is indicated to treat cough in children suffering from irritating cough due to cold or allergy and in nasal congestion and coryza. 
  • Hypersensitivity to one or all of the ingredients of Solanil® syrup.
  • Solanil® syrup is well tolerated, some few not serious side effects may appear in patients as sedation and drowsiness, but these may be helpful to have restful sleep for coughing child.

Infants (less than one year):

  • half teaspoonful ( 2.5ml ) 3 times a day.

Children ( 1 - 6 ) years:

  • one teaspoonful( 5 ml ) 3 times a day.

Children ( 6 - 12 ) years:

  • two teaspoonful ( 10ml ) 3 times a day.
  • Solanil®  syrup : Bottle of 100 ml.
  • Store at temperature not exceeding 25°C.
