For hyperkeratotic and dry skin inflammation

Indication

  • Cortisal® ointment is indicated for the treatment of hyperkeratotic and dry corticosteroid responsive dermatoses  where cornified epithelium may resist penetration of steroid, like chronic lichenified eczema lichen simplex, lichen planus, plague psoriasis  and atopic dermatitis unresponsive to less potent corticosteroids.

Composition

Each 1 tube of Cortisal® ointment contains : 

  • Mometasone  Furoate                              0.1%
  • Salicylic acid                                             5%

Dosage

  • Apply a thin film of Cortisal® ointment on the affected skin areas twice or once daily.

Cortisal® ointment preparation contains two active components:

  • Mometasone Furoate is a synthetic corticosteroid exhibits anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic and vaso-constrictive properties.
  • Salicylic acid topically softens keratin, loosens cornified epithelium, and desquamates the epidermis. 

Each 1 tube of Cortisal® ointment contains : 

  • Mometasone  Furoate                              0.1%
  • Salicylic acid                                             5%
  • Cortisal® ointment is indicated for the treatment of hyperkeratotic and dry corticosteroid responsive dermatoses  where cornified epithelium may resist penetration of steroid, like chronic lichenified eczema lichen simplex, lichen planus, plague psoriasis  and atopic dermatitis unresponsive to less potent corticosteroids.

Cortisal® ointment is contraindicated in:

  • Hypersensitivity to Mometasone furoate, or other corticosteroids and any component of the product.
  • Acne patients.
  • Patients with perianal and genital prurities.
  • Always consult your doctor before starting treatment with Cortisal® if you are pregnant, Cortisal® must not be used during the last three months of pregnancy, and it should be avoided during the first six months of pregnancy.
  • It is unknown whether Cortisal® passes  over into breast-milk, therefore always consult your doctor before starting treatment with Cortisal®  if you are breast-feeding.
  • Local adverse reactions reported very rarely with Mometasone Furoate include burning, pruritus, stinging, and signs of skin atrophy.  
  • Apply a thin film of Cortisal® ointment on the affected skin areas twice or once daily.
  • Systemic absorption of topical corticosteroid will beincreased when used on large area of the body and for this suitable precautions should be taken under this conditions or when long-term use is anticipated particularly in infants and children.
  • This medicament should not be applied to broken skin or open wound.
  • Caution should be observed to avoid any contact of this medicament with the eyes.
  • Excessive prolonged use of topical corticosteroids can suppress HPA axis resulting in secondary adrenal insufficiency and cushing,s syndrome.
  • Aluminium tube of Cortisal® ointment contains 30g .
  • Store at temperature below 25º C.
