Indication
Vibronaz® nasal drops and gel are used for the treatment of:
- Common cold.
- Acute and chronic rhinitis.
- Seasonal and non seasonal allergic rhinitis.
- Acute and chronic sinusitis.
- Adjuvant in acute otitis media.
- For pre and post operative care.
Vibronaz® nasal gel is especially used:
- For dryness of the nasal mucosa.
- The presence of crusts.
- The sequelae of nasal trauma.
- To keep the nose clear for the night.
Composition
Each 1 ml of Vibronaz® nasal drops contains:
- Dimethindene maleate 0.25mg
- Phenylephrine HCl 2.5mg
Each 1 g of Vibronaz® nasal gel contains:
- Dimethindene maleate 0.25mg
- Phenylephrine HCl 2.5mg
Dosage
¤ After blowing the nose carefully, apply 3 or 4 timed daily in each nostril as follow:-
Drops:
- Children from 1 to 6 years: 1 to 2 drops
- Children over 6 years and adults: 3 to 4 drops
(The application should be made in a seated position and immediately tilt the head back after each instillation to promote penetration).
Gel:
- Children over 6 years and adults: Apply the gel as deep as possible in each nostril 3 to 4 times a day.
- Vibronaz® nasal drops and gel reduce the nasal discharges and clear the nose without any effects to the vibratile cilia and nasal mucosa physiological protective functions, and its activity is not correlated with the blood concentration of its active ingredients.
- Phenylephrine HCl is vasoconstrictor that allows rapid and durable decongestion of nasal fossae, due to its selective α1 adrenergic receptors activity, while Dimethindene maleate is H1 histamine antagonist that is highly effective for allergic nasal conditions.

- Phenylephrine HCl 2.5mg

Vibronaz® is contraindicated in:
- Patients with hypersensitivity to Dimethindene maleate or Phenylephrine HCl.
- Phenylephrine HCl is contraindicated in cases of simple atrophic rhinitis, atrophic rhinitis with fetid discharges (ozena) and in patients taking MAO inhibitors.
- Vibronaz® is well tolerated, but in rare cases local and transient sensation of smarting or dryness of the nose may be observed.

- Vibronaz® should not be used continuously for more than one week as its prolonged use may lead to tachyphylaxis, rebound congestion or drug induced rhinitis.
- Excessive doses must be avoided in the cases of hypertension or other cardiovascular diseases, hyperthyroidism or narrow angle glaucoma.
- No approved findings for abnormalities to human fetus, however Vibronaz® should not be used extensively in pregnancy.
- Vibronaz® nasal drops: bottle of 15ml.
- Vibronaz® nasal gel: tube of 15gm.
- Store at a temperature below 25°C.
