Tiocosed-V® vaginal cream
  • Tioconazole is a synthetic broad spectrum antifungal agent which act aginst yeasts and other fungi and certain gram positive organisms, including Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp.
  • Tioconazole is effective in the treatment of patients with vaginal yeast infections such as Candida albicans, Other candida species,candida and in vaginal infections caused by Trichomonas vaginalis.
  • Systemic absorption after vaginal application of Tiocosed-V® is negligible.

Each 1gram of Tiocosed-V® vaginal cream contains:

  • Tioconazole                   20 mg

Each ovules of Tiocosed-V® contains: 

  • Tioconazole                 300 mg   
  • Tiocosed-V® vaginal cream and vaginal ovules are indicated for the local treatment in patients with vaginal yeast infection and Vulvo-vaginal candidiasis (VVC).
  • Tiocosed-V® vaginal cream and vaginal ovules may also be used for local application to the vulva concurrent with intravaginal treatment of these patients and for the local treatment of consorts.
  • Tiocosed-V® vaginal cream and vaginal ovules are indicated for the local treatment of patients with vaginal trichomoniasis.
  • Tiocosed-V® is contraindicated for people has been shown to be hypersensitive to imidazole antifungal agents or any of the components of the cream or ovules.
  • Tiocosed-V® has been shown to be effective in the treatment of vaginal candiasis associted with pregnancy but caution should exerised when prescribing during the first trimester. 
  • Tioconazole is well tolerated upon local application and no systemic adverse reactions have been observed.
  • Symptoms of local application may be irritation, burning and itching.
  • Allergic Reaction, Gastrointestinal as Abdominal pain.
  • Urogenital: Edema genital, pruritus genital, vaginal  disorder.
  • Tiocosed-V® vaginal cream and vaginal ovules should be applied once nightly on retiring for the specifed duration of treatment using the applicator supplied.
  • Tiocosed-V® vaginal cream should be used in preference to ovules in cases of vaginal candidiasis with scant discharge.
  • Tiocosed-V® vaginal cream and vaginal ovules are effective when applied for 3, 6 or 14 days, three days of treatment effects occur in most patients.


how should using this medicine:

  • Tiocosed-V® vaginal cream: lie on your back with your knee toward your chest then insert the applicator filled with cream into the vagina as far as it will comfortably go, slowly press the plunger of the applicator to applying the full dose of the cream then through the applicator away after use.
  • Tiocosed-V® ovules: gently insert the ovule into vagina as far as it will go comfortably this will can be done while standing with your feet spread a few inches apart and your knee bent.
  • Tiocosed-V® vaginal cream: Aluminium tube 20 gm.  
  • Tiocosed-V® vaginal: pack contains 3 ovules.
  • Store at a temperature below 25 °C.
