Profast® gel
Analgesic , Antirheumatin, Anti-Inflammatory

Indication
Profast® gel is used topically for the treatment of :
- benign trauma especially sport injuries, sprains, tendinitis, edema and post-traumatic pain.
- localized pain and inflammation associated with acute musculo-skeletal injuries.
- Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis pain.
- Articular tumors.
- Muscular pain.
- Tendon and ligament pain.

Composition
Each 100g of Profast® gel contains:
- Ketoprofen 2.5g

Dosage
- Apply to the affected area 2 to 4 times daily by gently massaging in order to help absorption.
- Ketoprofen is a non-steroidal anti- inflammatory agent. Since ketoprofen is an inhibitor of prostaglandin synthesis it provides for anti-inflammatory , analgesic effects.
- When applied locally as a gel, Ketoprofen is absorbed very slowly with no accumulation in the body. This low bioavailability enables obtained a local effect without systemic presence .

- Hypersensitivity to ketoprofen.
- Exudative dermatoses
- eczema
- infected skin lesions and sores.
- Bioavailability studies have proved that interaction between ketoprofen, applied topically, and other topically or systemically administered drugs is improbable.However, when it is applied in high doses fo r a long time, competition may occur between absorbed ketoprofen and other drugs which have a strong binding with plasma proteins.
- Profast® gel used with caution during pregnancy and lactation .
Rare allergic skin reactions of:
- the pruritus or localised erythema types.
- gastrointestinal tract disorders.
- Apply to the affected area 2 to 4 times daily by gently massaging in order to help absorption.
- Profast® gel should be used with caution in patients with asthma or bronchospasm, bleeding disorders, cardiovascu-lar disease, peptic ulceration or a history of such ulceration, renal failure and in those who are receiving coumarin anticoagulants.
- Profast® gel should not be applied to open wounds or lesions of the skin, or near the eyes.
- Do not apply to mucous membranes.
- Avoid direct exposure to sunlight to avoid photosensitivity.
Profast® gel:
- Tube of 40 g.
- Store below 25ºC, protect from heat.
