

Indication
Otronaz® nasal drops are used for the treatment of:
- Colds of various types.
- To aid drainage of sinus conditions.
- As an adjuvant to decongest the nasopharyngeal mucosa, in otitis media.
- To facilitate rhinoscopy.
- Relief of the symptoms of a blocked nose and sinuses associated with a cold, influenza and allergies.

Composition
Each 1 ml of Otronaz® 0.05% nasal drops contains:
- Xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.5 mg.
Each 1 ml of Otronaz® 0.1% nasal drops contains:
- Xylometazoline hydrochloride 1 mg.

Dosage
Otronaz® 0.05% for infants and children up to 6 years of age:
- 2 drops 1 to 2 times a day into each nostril per application.
- (Do not exceed 3 applications a day).
Otronaz® 0.1% for adult and children over 6 years of age only:
- 2 to 3 drops into each nostril per application;4 applications a day are usually sufficient.
- Xylometazoline is an arylalkyl imidazoline.
- Xylometazoline is a direct-acting sympathomimetic with marked alpha-adrenergic activity. It is a vasoconstrictor which reduces swelling and congestion when applied to mucous membranes.
- The effect begins within 5 to 10 minutes of application and lasts for up to 10 hours.
- Otronaz® nasal drops must be administered into the nasal cavities, where it exerts a vasoconstrictive effect leading to decongestion of the nasal and pharyngeal mucosa, thus make it easier to breath through the nose when suffering from cold or chill.
- Otronaz® contains ingredients which prevent the drying of nasal mucous membrane.
Each 1 ml of Otronaz® 0.05% nasal drops contains:
- Xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.5 mg.
Each 1 ml of Otronaz® 0.1% nasal drops contains:
- Xylometazoline hydrochloride 1 mg.
Otronaz® nasal drops are used for the treatment of:

Otronaz® should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to Xylometazoline hydrochloride or in the following cases:
- After a transsphenoidal hypophysectomy.
- In case of dry rhinitis.
- Acute angle glaucoma.
¤ This drug should not be used with the following medications because serious interactions may occur:
- Drugs used for high blood pressure (hypertension).
- Drugs used for heart failure and irregular heart beat.
- Drugs for suppressing appetite.
- Drugs used to induce labour called oxytocin.
Otronaz® is considered well tolerated, and side effects may appear as simple as:
- Temporary burning of stinging.
- Dryness in the nose.
- Runny nose and sneezing may occur.
- Burning sensation in the nose and throat.
Otronaz® 0.05% for infants and children up to 6 years of age:
- 2 drops 1 to 2 times a day into each nostril per application.
- (Do not exceed 3 applications a day).
Otronaz® 0.1% for adult and children over 6 years of age only:
- 2 to 3 drops into each nostril per application;4 applications a day are usually sufficient.
- Otronaz® should be used with caution in patients suffering from hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus and overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism).
- Otronaz® nasal drops: (bottle of 10ml).
- Store at temperature below 30 °C, and not use more than one week without doctores advice.
