Hydroqin®
skin bleaching cream
Indication
- Hydroqin® cream is indicated for the gradual bleaching of hyperpigmented skin conditions such as chloasma, melasma,freckle, senile lentigines and other unwanted areas of melanin hyperpigmentation.
Composition
Each 1 gram of Hydroqin® cream contains:
- Hydroquinone 40 mg.
Dosage
- Apply Hydroqin® cream once or twice daily to the affected area, in the morning and at night for at least one month or as directed by the physician(preferred to use this preparation without exposure to sunlight).
- There is no recommended dosage for children under 12 years of age except under the advice and supervision of a physician.
- Topical application of Hydroqin® cream produces a reversible depigmentation of the skin by inhibition of the enzymatic oxidation of tyrosine to 3,4 dihydroxyphenylalanin(dopa); therefore it is used externally as depigmentation agent in conditions such as chloasma, melasma, freckles, and age spots.
- Topical application of Hydroqin® cream suppresses other melanocyte metabolic processes.
Each 1 gram of Hydroqin® cream contains:
- Hydroquinone 40 mg.

- Prior history of sensitivity or allergic reaction to Hydroquinone .
- There is no well controlled studies for the use of hydroquinone cream in pregnancy and lactation. Therefore it should be used if benefit outweigh potential risk to the fetus or if directed by your physician.
- No systemic adverse reactions have been reported.
- Occasional hypersensitivity (localized contact dermatitis) may occur, the medication should be discontinued in such case and you should consult your physician.
- Apply Hydroqin® cream once or twice daily to the affected area, in the morning and at night for at least one month or as directed by the physician(preferred to use this preparation without exposure to sunlight).
- There is no recommended dosage for children under 12 years of age except under the advice and supervision of a physician.
- Test for skin sensitivity before using Hydroqin® cream by applying a small amount to an unbroken patch of skin and check in 24 hours, minor redness is not a contraindication, but where there is itching or vesicle formation or excessive inflammatory response, further treatment is not advised.
- Contact with eyes should be avoided.
- If no bleaching or lightening effect is noted after 2 months of treatment, the medication should be discontinued.
- There is no sunblocking or sunscreening agent in hydroquinone, so minimal sunlight exposure may reverse the bleaching effect of this preparation ;therefore it should be used only at night or on areas of the body covered by protective clothing.
- This preparation contains sodium metabisulfite, it may cause allergic reactions in certain susceptible persons.
- Hydroqin® cream Tube contains 20 gm.
- Store at temperature not exceeding 25 °C, protected from light.
