Indication
Bronchomed® syrup is a herbal preparation to be used in:
- cough,
- bronchitis,
- bronchial catarrh,
- mucous obstruction of the bronchi.
Composition
Each 5 ml of Bronchomed® syrup contains:
- Thyme liquid extract 250 mg
- Primula root dried extract 16.25 mg
Dosage
¤ Oral use: The solution has to be taken at regular intervals.
¤ Shake well before use.
Adults and adolescents:
- the usual dose is one spoon every 2–3 hours up to 6 times per day.
Children:
- half to one spoon, 2–3 times per day.
¤ The duration of treatment depends on the duration of the illness and not limited in time.
¤ In case you missed one dose, take the dose as soon as possible.
Bronchomed® syrup is a herbal preparation contains:
- Thyme that acts as an expectorant and bronchial spasmolytic and has antiseptic properties;
- Primula root, that has antitussive, expectorant and soothing effect.

Bronchomed® syrup is a herbal preparation to be used in:

This medicinal product must not be used in the following cases:
- Hypersensitivity to thyme or primula root;
- In epileptic patients
- in patients suffering from brain disease or brain injury
- in patients with liver impairment.
- As a general rule you must always ask the advice of your pharmacist before taking any medicinal product during pregnancy or lactation.
¤ Like any active substance, this medicinal product may induce, in some patients, undesirable effects to a greater or lesser degree:
- Very rare cases of gastric complaints (spasm, nausea, vomiting) have been reported.
- Very rare cases of allergic skin reactions such as cutaneous rash, urticaria, dyspnoea and angioedema (reaction characterized by swelling of the face, tongue, throat or larynx) have also been reported.
Over dosage:
- No intoxication has been reported with Bronchomed® syrup.
- Scientific findings with thyme largely exclude intoxication; no symptoms of intoxication have been reported.
- Excessive doses of primula root dried extract may provoke nausea, vomiting and diarrhea; therefore, this kind of reaction might be possible with over-dosing Bronchomed® syrup.
- Excessive doses of thyme should be precautioned during pregnancy, and health practitioner should be consulted.

- If symptoms persist or worsen during the first week of use, or if dyspnoea, fever or purulent sputum occurs, a physician should be consulted.
- In diabetic patients, the content of glucose has to be taken into account.
- Bottle of 100 ml syrup.
- Do not store above 25 °C.
- Bronchomed® syrup contains extract of plant origin; occasionally, sedimentation or flocculation may appear which did not affect the efficacy of the preparation.
