Vaginal Ovules
Indication
- Local treatment of cervicovaginal inflammations or infections and tissue damage (e.g vaginal and cervical discharge caused by bacteria, trichomonal and fungal infections, pressure sores in pessaries) condyloma accuminata.Protuberance of cervicalmucosa .
Composition
Each vaginal ovules contains :
- Policresulen 90 mg.
Dosage
- Depending on the severity of the condition, one vaginal suppository is administered daily or every two days.
- The vaginal suppository should be introduced in the evening.
- To facilitate its introduction, the suppository may be moistened with water and then, preferably in the supine position, introduced deep into the vagina.
- The additional use of a sanitary towel avoids soiling of clothing and bedding.
- The duration of use depends on the nature and severity of the condition and is determined by the doctor .
- Bothil® ovules should be used until the symptoms have disappeared, but not for more than 9 days.
- Bothil® ovules is an antiseptic used in infections of mucous membranes of vagina.

- Hypersensitivity to Policresulen.
- Bothil® vaginal suppositories are intended exclusively for local use.
- drug on the same area should be avoided during treatment with Bothil®, since interactions can not ruled out.
- No adverse effects have been reported with the use of Bothil® vaginal ovules in pregnancy. However, it should not be used during the first trimester of pregnancy where considered essential to the welfare of the patient.
- Usage during lactation: It is not known whether intravaginal policresulen is excreted in breast milk. However, problems in lactating women have not been documented, caution should be considered.
- Bothil® vaginal ovules are usually well tolerated. Some adverse reactions have rarely been reported including local irritation or sensitivity.

- Care must be taken not to swallow the suppositories, if Bothil® vaginal suppositories have been swallowed inadvertently, you should immediately drink plenty of water and consult your doctor.
- Bothil® vaginal suppositories cause a sharp stimulation of the healing processes. There is no cause for concern if necrotic tissue from the diseased area is sloughed off even in large amounts.
- During the treatment period, the use of soaps which cause irritation, and sexual intercourse must be avoided.
- Like all vaginal therapeutics, Bothil® vaginal suppositories should not be used during menstruation.
- If textiles or leather come into contact with Bothil® vaginal suppositories, they should be immediately rinsed with water before drying.
- Bothil® vaginal suppositories is not indicated for use in children and aldolescent under 18 years of age or in postmenopusal women.
- Bothil® ovules 90 mg : pack contains 6 ovules.
- Store below 25°C.
